Krissy Landon

Committed to Lawrence University in Appleton for Girls Swim

What drew you to this college?

The tight knit community at the college. Visiting other colleges, I could tell they weren’t quite right for me, but whenever I visited Lawrence it just felt like the perfect fit. The professors and student body aren’t like any I’ve seen anywhere else.

Where do you see this commitment taking you?

I think I’ve had some serious athletic growth within my four years of high school, and I think going to the collegiate level of swimming, I will just continue to enhance my swimming abilities. I’m looking forward to some great progression of my athletic career!

Kassidy Thomas

Committed to Gustavus Adolphus in St. Peter for Girls Swim

What drew you to this college?

One of my friends already attends this school, which is how I heard about it, but I was drawn to the school because of how large the team is and how inviting the coaches were. I also loved the science department and the different opportunities they offer.

Where do you see this commitment taking you?

I think it will help my swimming grow entirely. I have grown a lot throughout high school, but the new environment that I will be joining will definitely give my swimming a lot of gain.

Ellison Heyerdahl

Committed to Gustavus Adolphus in St. Peter for Girls Swim

What drew you to this college?

I heard about Gustavus because one of my friends is attending there, but when I toured it in early January I fell in love with their education program which I plan on majoring in.

Where do you see this commitment taking you ?

I see myself becoming a better swimmer and person. This past season I hit a low with my shoulder injury, and I hope with better technique and discipline I can make my shoulder stronger which will overall cause me to improve with my swimming. As a person, I have already grown so much over the past four years and I can’t wait to see what a new place and new people can do to benefit this growth process.

Jasmin Montiel

Committed to Carroll University in Waukesha for Girls Swim

What drew you to this college?

The swim coach giving me a chance to swim. It means a lot since I received an injury to my ankle that made me believe I would never swim after high school.

Where do you see this commitment taking you?

I just see it making me a better swimmer and allowing me to have a fun time for the next four years. I don’t really see myself swimming after college.

McGregor Mayse

Committed to Carroll University in Waukesha for Boys Soccer

What drew you to this college?

Carroll was my top choice for soccer, but also for academics. I also knew that I could attend Carroll for free, which really drew me towards the school. The soccer team there has a lot of impressive players, and I decided to take a chance at making the team.

Where do you see this commitment taking you?

I hope to play all four years of college soccer, but after graduating, I plan to join a casual soccer league or something along those lines.

Mandi Franks

Committed to Bethel University in Arden Hills for Softball and Girls Basketball

What drew you to this college?

Bethel really interested me with its amazing softball program and coach, but it also had great academic opportunities for my major, (Biochemistry and Spanish). Most importantly, the school spirit and sense of community decided my commitment to Bethel. I was so surprised and happy at the support offered to the athletes by the students.

Where do you see this commitment taking you?

I hope my commitment keeps me on track for my academics. I plan on being a surgeon, so I’ll be in school for a pretty long time. I feel like it’s important I do what I love while I can.

Olivia Cronin

Committed to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix for Girls Hockey

What drew you to this college?

I chose GCU for the environment. On my visit, it was clear that everyone loved their school and had so much school spirit and supported all of the athletic teams!

Where do you see this commitment taking you?

I see my athletic commitment taking me to the next level of play, driving me to work hard and always reach for greatness.

McKenna Rooney

Committed to Gustavus Adolphus in St Peters for Girls Swim

What drew you to this college?

Initially, Gustavus wasn’t my favorite of the schools I had applied to. But then I ended up meeting with an admissions counselor who convinced me to come take a tour. As soon as I set foot on campus, it felt like coming home. Everything just kind of fell into place after that.

Where do you see this commitment taking you?

If I’m being totally honest, I have no clue. Swimming has just always been a part of my life, and I didn’t want to lose it once I entered college. I’ll be fine with wherever I go within the sport, as long as I’m doing it.

Eamonn Rougvie

Committed to Lawrence University in Appleton for Boys Soccer

What drew you to this college?

My first pick didn’t work out, but Lawrence University had a big music program, and I am in a jazz band, and it’s something I’d like to continue. The fact I get to play soccer too really sealed the deal.

Where do you see this commitment taking you?

I see this commitment bringing me happiness more than anything else. Rather than a pro contract or something, I see it as a passion I’ve had for a long time and I have the opportunity to keep playing.
