What kind of music do you like to listen to?
Mostly classic rock like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.
What other activities are you interested in?
Gaming, distance running, and building computers.
What’s a movie you could watch over and over again?
Hacksaw Ridge.
What are your plans for after high school?
My main plan is going to two year college for something to do with informational technology.
How does the boys swim team work together to perform their best at practice and competitions?
A lot of things we do are individual but we all work on repetition. Doing things over and over again to create muscle memory and good habits. Conditioning is also important just like any other sport.
Was there a moment or someone that got you to start competitive swimming?
Honestly, I’ve been swimming my whole life. My brother had a huge impact on me when he was in high school. His friend taught me how to swim and ever since I started competitive swimming.
What do you do to perform your best at practice and swim meets?
I try to get to practice early. Vogel always says if you're on time you're late. Then focusing during practice on getting rid of the bad habits and improving my conditioning.
What does a regular practice of swimming look like?
We start up with a 300 free and 200 IM warm up. Then, We split up with sprinters on one side and distance on the other side of the pool with each group doing their own set in the water. Usually at the end we all work on our dives. We do yoga at least once a week.
Has Covid affected your performance this season?
It has ruined my season. I set my personal bests at the beginning of the season, then Covid hit and I was out for two weeks, then when I came back I was getting slower and towards the end I finally got back to my best times.
