Just a Story

By Serenity Buchanan

Today I was walking in the park and I seen my best friends. They had brought there little sisters and brothers Lisa is my bff has two sisters and one brother named Curtis (boy), Sina (girl), Rose (girl). Julisa (my friend) she has Annie (girl), Sisney (girl), Roselynn (girl). I went to them and I said “hi”. They called to there moms “can we go to our friends house today” there moms said “call and ask her to come here”. “But she is here” they said “Okay then play with her here. I will take care of the little ones”. “Fine!” So they went with me and we played parchesi, I spy, and other, cool, fun family games. Then we put the games away and we played tag on the playset. It was fun but then they had to go home, so I went home to my mom. She was surprised to see me home so early but I went up to my sisters room and she ask how my day was I said it was good and asked her how her day was and she said yea it was good what did you do today? I said “played with my friends what did you do?”. She didn’t have time to answer because Mom called for us to eat. After we ate, dad came home and ate the leftovers. Then we take a bath and brushed our teeth and we got in our bed and mom and dad told us a story. Then we went to sleep.

The next day… today I woke up from bed and noticed a shadow in my room! But it was not mine. Who is in my room I said this out loud and a familiar voice answered. It was my bff Lisa. She didn’t bring her sisters though, but she was asking if she could stay because she had no school today. I was wondering why she had come at 5:00 am in the morning but I didn’t ask her. She told me to get up and get dressed and come outside. We will be waiting.

Christmas Prom

By Reagan Tyler

The cheerfulest girl known to West High wheeled herself into the high school gymnasium taking in the sweet smell of melted chocolate and mint candies. She couldn’t keep myself from wondering how much her best friend would have loved it. The girl smoothed out the rainbow dress Quinn would have worn, and the memory of last month replayed in her head. The way everything went dark and the sound of the sirens becoming closer every second. The way she had survived but Quinn didn’t. She flinched at the images and wheeled herself into the closest bright pink bathroom she could find. The make-up the poor girl had done earlier ruined at the touch of her tears. Her friends felt no pity towards her, and she was alone. She had only shown up to the prom for Quinn, and she wasn’t even here! Minutes passed and more memories came, but these weren’t sad. These were happy memories that had happened before the accident. Memories filled with joy and belonging. The girl wiped her tears and smiled, for she knew she had earned her guardian angel.

I Wish

By Kameron M.

I wish that you could be near,

I wish that I could cry, but I’ve cried all my tears.

I wish I could take back my words.

I really wish I could, it would be easier if you were in my world and I was in yours.

So close but so far that’s what happens when you’re two worlds apart

I wish to gain a spot in the depths of your heart.

I wish I could speak but my words are buried

Time is precious but you carried on dancing the dance and singing the same old songs.

History repeats itself but I long to end that cycle.

I wish that I could see straight and think straight, it’s kinda hard when you tend to think everything’s fake.

I wish I didn’t feel like a mistake or feel the need to be corrected, erased, and replaced

I wish I had an escape from the thoughts and deep beliefs and hopes and wishes... that I didn’t exist

But I fight I step toward my goal, I know that I will defeat the monster that unravels my confidence the one that takes over my mind

The feeling that separates me, discourages me, and makes me feel like I’m not worthy and that I can’t fight

But I stand here and overcome, I see the light and I learned I’m unstoppable

But most of all I learned the reason for life...

Her Smile

By Reniyah T.

There’s something about her

I’m not sure if it’s her bubbly personality.

Her dark brown hair that sways in the wind.

Her freckles scattered around her face,

each telling a different story.

Her dark brown eyes, that I catch myself staring in

for minutes, hours, days, months, years.

Her lips are soft as the days to come.

She doesn’t notice me, but I notice her.

I notice her hurting, her smiling, her laughing, her crying.

It hurts to know that I will never be the reason

Of that warm smile of hers.

By Brooklynn Price

Life is a challenge but you just got to fight through he pain. You just got to do the best you can. Not everybody perfect so you don’t have to be perfect but that dosen’t mean not to try. Use your heart and mind and just believe in yourself. Pressure only comes to you if you let it so just relax and pressure won’t be a thing in the world. Look I’m a kid and I have a long way of my life to go but I still try at my basketball games I try at my baseball games I try and I will keep trying until I can’t try anymore everybody should fight till they can’t nomore.
